Forsaken Moodboard

Hello bloggers! Today we at CineMarcus Productions are excited to announce our new mood board for our film opener, "Forsaken!" As we embark on these crucial early steps to bring our film to life, we want you to understand the emotional impact our focus on the drama and coming of age genres will have on our audience. Before we reveal the mood board, keep in mind that our project centers around the drama genre, designed to evoke a wide range of emotions from joy to sorrow.

Mood Board:

This mood board might appear to be quite overwhelming at first glance right? However, it can be understood more easily by breaking it down into three distinct sections: loneliness and isolation, interactivity with friends, and the vibrant and fun atmospheres.

Loneliness:

First and foremost, the images shown in the mood board of the people looking lonely in their room represent this area of the film with a depressing tone overall. Where the opening scene of this film captures the deep loneliness and isolation that the protagonist, Kendrick, experiences in his daily life; as he navigates through moments filled with enthusiasm, Kendrick's mind drifts to vivid daydreams of joy and connection with friends. However, these imagined scenes contrast the somber reality surrounding him, revealing the deep emotional pain of his solitude. Thus, loneliness and isolation are huge aspects of telling this story.

Activities with friends:

Equally important to the aspects of loneliness, the protagonist's activities with friends is also a really important idea to know about. The mood board above features lively pictures reflecting a great deal of friendship, laughter, and companionship. Showing how those relationships with the main character Kendrick can be so intense. Moreover, friendship is also represented as relieving loneliness but also in some important sense as something uplifting that can give joy and a sense of belonging—the only support system through which the people in this film often tend to get out from the dark shadows of isolation.

The vibrant and fun atmosphere:

When compared to the activities of friends, the vibrant and fun atmosphere is an important concept in bringing this dreamlike story to life. This idea is effectively conveyed in the mood board, which showcases a variety of colorful clothing stores with different styles and textures, and lively arcade games with their flashing lights and cheerful sounds. The  attention to detail in creating this lively atmosphere and designing a fun welcoming world is intended to thrill the audience to a different world, where they can fully experience the true meaning of happiness and togetherness.

Thank you bloggers for taking your time to witness the mood board of our journey to making this amazing film opener! See you on the flip side!

Final Project Idea

Hello Bloggers! Today, I have a really BIG announcement to share with you guys! Me and my partners Justin and Alexander have conclusively decided that our final project idea is FINISHED! We've spent some time deciding and discussing how we will incorporate our ideas and what to do to make our film, and we have it ready to start! We will be using…. Drum roll, please!!! My brainstorming idea Forsaken! Now, you may be wondering what genre this project will be in. But before I tell you, I need you to remember my idea for this film!

                                                       (12 Angry Men)

The story begins on a sunny summer day, where our protagonist, Kendrick, enjoys a fun outing at the mall with a few friends. The atmosphere is very lively filling with laughter and delicious food as they explore different types of stores and go to the arcade. However, everything changes when Kendrick feels disoriented later fainting. Upon awakening, he has a painful sense of loneliness that contrasts with the joy he felt before to find out it was all a dream with the project ending there.

(12 Angry Men)

With this in mind, the project will be categorized as a drama and a coming of age genre by allowing us to examine the complexities of the protagonist's experiences while projecting the internal struggles and important moments that define his character. Moreover, this project has the potential to resonate as a universally understood experience by sharing with the audience and drawing them into the story itself!

(12 Angry Men)

Though many dramas and coming of age genres have internal struggles, our project stands apart by using abrupt tone changes from joy to darkness to illustrate the feeling of isolation for the main protagonist! The dream sequence element in my opinion adds a unique twist which blurs the lines between reality and imagination, leaving the audience with an open-ended thought provoking experience.

We look forward to bringing "Forsaken" to life and will keep you updated on our progress! Thank you for your support!

Title Sequence Research

Hello and good day bloggers! Today I am diving into title sequences from various television shows and movies! Among the many titles I've encountered, three in particular have captured my attention the most: The Last of Us, Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse, and Peacemaker. Each title sequence showcases different unique artistic styles, storytelling techniques, and musical compositions that really capture the viewer's attention. Without further ado, let's dive deeper into these exceptional title sequences and examine what makes them so memorable!

The Last of Us:

The title sequence for The Last of Us is a visually thrilling introduction that quickly sets the manner for the series in my opinion. The symbolism here helps provide subtle narrative cues about the story's themes, world, and character relationships, which I will now explain.

For example, tendrils of the Cordyceps fungus start spreading across a black surface in the opening animation, which symbolizes infection taking over the series' world that is a direct representation of the central antagonist of the fungal pandemic that really in the way that they mimic the way the fungus infects and controls its hosts literally serving as a symbolic vision for the uncontrolled spread of a killer force.

Along with the fungus's spreading, it creates a somewhat kind of detailed network of root structures. The patterns from this formed describes the way that the Cordyceps behaves as one large organism as seen in the show. For this reason, it reflects on how human relations affect survival and prop up interconnectedness in a broken world (aka the world of The Last of Us). This network of these root structures then morph into what one would think are landscapes indicating how nature has taken over after the fall of humanity.

At specific points, the fungal growth takes on shapes resembling human forms. This symbolizes the fusion of humanity and the Cordyceps infection where humans are not just victims but also vessels for the fungus, reflecting the blurred line between life and death in this world.

Near the end of the sequence, two specific fungal tendrils grow toward each other and entangle. This visual represents the growing relationship between the characters Joel and Ellie otherwise known as the show's main characters.

Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse:

This is one of my favorite title sequences ever because it's so innovative and imaginative! From the very beginning, it engages the audience in the introduction of the main characters with a lot of flair and creativity, hinting at their personalities and individual story arcs. The sequence very ingeniously creates ideas in clever references to crucial moments that unfold later in the film, creating a sense of anticipation and intrigue that keeps the audience on the edge of their seats.

The artistic quality of the sequence is simply amazing and far surpasses the already high standards of the movie in terms of visuals and theme! It is a visual treat in my humble opinion that is full of an outlandish quirky visuals that really point toward the unique creative vision of the film.

Peacemaker:

This sequence, my favorite of the three, is the best obviously because of its comedic elements! The expressionless dancing from the cast against this flamboyant music creates like a comical tone for the show and I think hooks the audience PERFECTL. This is very self-aware and of course represents the show's satire greatly, particularly with the way it has been taking to the superheroes in the DC Universe. This also shows how Peacemaker, played by John Cena, is open to embracing silliness!

Furthermore, the sequence also echoes the show's ideas a lot or the grim themes with humor. The dances are inherently funny but it becomes even more humorous in the context of serious subjects like violence, redemption, and morality that are HEAVILY in the show. The title sequence in this scenario sets the stage for the audience to expect these emotions where the sequence is liberally absurd to put it more easily worded much like the show itself. That shows how this tv show uses silliness in the story to deliver great character arcs and messages and  makes audiences feel emotionally invested in the story being told. These ridiculous dance moves by the actor completely flip the tone in the title sequence, making for a unique and engaging experience for the audience.

Brainstorming

Hello and good day bloggers! Today me and my partners Justin and Alexander have started deciding what kind of project we will create and produce! It is pretty hard to decide on this kind of idea due to how we will incorporate camera shots, props, setting, etc. Although I know we can make this work! I’m so excited for you guys to see what we have planned! Let’s look at the ideas shall we?

Forsaken

My brainstorming idea, "Forsaken," shines around Kendrick, a teenager who really is in need of friends. This film opens on a sunny day as Kendrick meets with his "friends" and becomes surrounded by jaw dropping parts of a mall! They wander and eat food then travel through charming little shops trying on colorful trendy clothes and accessories! The excitement eventually peaks as they challenge each other to play arcade games. But then all of a sudden, Kendrick faints as he feels disoriented and then he wakes up to the shocking realization that it was all a dream...

Stranded

Justin's brainstorming idea, Stranded, is a thrilling opener from which we as a team can imagine a chase in the woods revolving around a mysterious premise. Inspired by movies such as Scream and our earlier sound story project, for example, Justin believed that our combined creativity could bring to life the most chaotic and rousing scenes especially for Stranded. From Justin's idea, he said that darkness and gloom will be surrounding the atmosphere, and that terror will be shown on the hero's part of the story when he sees a shadow behind him and runs for his life from the antagonist. The setting will be dark and gloomy, and the protagonist will look terrified as he sees a shadow behind him and then runs away from the antagonist.

Stay tuned for an exciting announcement coming your way! See you on the flip side!
